What if I am already accredited to perform HMRs and RMMRs?
Updated 22/12/2022.
AACP accredited pharmacists will have their details communicated to the PPA up until the 31 December 2022, after this date the communciation between AACP and PPA will cease. However the PPA will recognise MRN details from 1st January 2023 until the 30 of June 2023. From 1 July 2023, the College will communicate what the next steps are. Current accredited pharmacists can submit claims as per usual.
It is the current understanding of the College that pharmacists who are already accredited by the AACP or SHPA to perform Medication Management Reviews no longer need to re-accredit to do this. The Department of Health and Aged Care has not yet announced what will be required for the maintenance of accreditation for current accredited pharmacists. We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
In the meantime, the College recommends you continue to do Continuing Professional Development relevant to your scope of practice as an accredited pharmacist.
The College has been delivering education in clinical, leadership and management domains that is highly relevant to accredited pharmacists for many years. We reiterate our commitment to providing relevant, practical education for all pharmacists performing medication review, regardless of their setting of practice.
Membership of the College provides a range of other benefits (Membership fee $399 incl GST per year).
